Apple’s iOS 18.4 update is expected to arrive in April. A beta version for developers is slated to be released between mid-week and early next week. Although intended for developers, anyone can download the beta for free.

The upcoming update is anticipated to include significant enhancements to Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant. These include an improved design with a new animation, and the ability to interact with on-screen content. For example, Siri will be able to automatically update contact information from a text message.

Siri will also gain expanded app compatibility, allowing it to perform actions within hundreds of apps. Users be able to execute multi-step tasks across different apps with a single command. Furthermore, Siri is being designed able to track user information across emails, messages, and photos. It will become a much more personalized assistant.

In addition to the Siri upgrades, iOS 18.4 is expected to introduce seven new emojis. These include a “face with bags under eyes,” a fingerprint, a leafless tree, a root vegetable, a harp, a shovel, and a splatter.

Apple aims at releasing major updates on Mondays or Tuesdays, iOS 18.4 is speculated to potentially launch between April 7th and 15th. The developer beta could arrive as early as February 12th to February 17th. Users interested in testing the beta can sign up on Apple’s website and install it through their iPhone’s settings. It is always possible switch back to the old version at any time.The update will also deliver expanded language support for Apple’s AI, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese.
