iPhone Update: Hidden Bug Risk?

Apple’s recent software updates, iOS 18.3.1, iPadOS 18.3.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.3.1, released on February 10th, have caused some Apple Intelligence settings to revert to being enabled, even if users had previously disabled them.

The issue appears linked to whether the Setup Assistant and welcome screen are displayed after the update is installed. After these updates some, but not to all computers, had their intelligence options changed.

It is currently uncertain how widespread this issue is, particularly on iPhones. The re-enabling of the feature is most likely a bug and not an intentional change by Apple. Re-disabling Apple Intelligence can be easily, and done within the device’s settings.
