AKASO, a global brand known for its affordable and high-quality action cameras, has announced the upcoming launch of its newest product, the AKASO 360, scheduled for release on 28 July 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. This new camera is designed for creators looking to capture a complete 360-degree view of their surroundings, offering features that are targeted at both beginners and experienced users in the content creation space.
The AKASO 360 is introduced as a compact, user-friendly device aimed at a broad market of content creators, including vloggers, athletes, and adventurers. With a track record of selling over half a million units annually, AKASO is positioning this model as a significant step forward in its mission to make high-quality content creation tools accessible to more people.
The new action camera’s main selling point is its 360-degree video capability. The AKASO 360 records ultra-high-resolution video at 5.7K and captures still photos at 72 megapixels. This combination allows users to create detailed and colourful footage, even in environments with challenging lighting. The device is intended to provide flexibility for users who want to capture everyday moments, action sports, or outdoor adventures such as biking, diving, skiing, hiking, and fishing.
AKASO has equipped the camera with advanced technology to enhance the shooting and editing experience. Features include artificial intelligence-based tracking, which automatically follows the subject of a video, and a 360-degree horizon lock that keeps footage stable even when the camera is moved or rotated. The device also offers an invisible selfie stick effect, allowing users to shoot without the stick appearing in the final footage.
The camera’s user interface is centred around a 2.29-inch high-resolution touchscreen, designed to provide easy access to all settings and features. The AKASO 360 is also fully integrated with the AKASO 360 mobile application, allowing users to transfer, edit, reframe, and share their videos and photos directly from their smartphones. This integration supports flexible post-capture editing, letting users adjust their content to fit different platforms and storytelling needs after the footage has been recorded.
