Samsung Launches Galaxy Z Fold7 Z Flip7 and Watch8 Series in Malaysia

Samsung Electronics has announced the arrival of its latest lineup of foldable smartphones and wearables, signaling a new phase in mobile technology. The new Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, and Galaxy Watch8 Series are now available for pre-order in Malaysia, with general sales set to begin on August 1, 2025.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is positioned as the most advanced foldable device from Samsung to date. With a focus on engineering precision and intelligent integration, the device aims to set new standards for productivity and performance. The Z Fold7 is notably thin and light, weighing just 215 grams and measuring 9 mm thick when folded and 4.2 mm when unfolded. Despite its slim profile, the device provides a larger workspace with an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, which is 11% larger than its predecessor. The display offers ultra-rich contrast, up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness, and a wider cover screen, making it easier to type and browse on the go.
Samsung has also focused on durability, introducing the Armor FlexHinge and new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for better protection against daily wear and tear. The device frame and hinge are reinforced with advanced Armor Aluminum, while the main display includes a titanium plate and thicker Ultra-Thin Glass to further enhance strength.
The Z Fold7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, offering significant performance improvements in AI-related tasks, graphics, and computing. The device’s camera system is headlined by a 200MP wide-angle lens, delivering high levels of detail and brightness, supported by AI-driven features for improved imaging in low light and better video quality. New creative tools, such as Photo Assist and Generative Edit, leverage AI to make photo and video editing more accessible directly from the device, while features like Audio Eraser offer more intelligent audio enhancements.
AI plays a central role in the user experience, with the new One UI 8 platform on Android 16 providing context-aware and multimodal interactions. Features such as Gemini Live, Circle to Search, and Drag & Drop for AI-generated content are optimized for the foldable’s large display, streamlining multitasking and creativity.
Alongside the Z Fold7, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Flip7, a compact foldable with significant hardware and software upgrades. The Z Flip7 features the largest FlexWindow yet at 4.1 inches, supporting edge-to-edge usability, 2,600 nits of brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Despite its compact form—just 188 grams in weight and 13.7 mm when folded—the Z Flip7 offers a robust experience, with an improved battery capacity of 4,300mAh and the latest 3nm processor.
The Z Flip7 is built for convenience, allowing many tasks to be handled directly from the FlexWindow, including responding to messages, checking schedules, or taking high-quality selfies. Personalization options, integration with Gemini Live for voice-powered AI, and Now Brief for daily updates aim to make the device both practical and adaptive to user preferences.
Photography remains a major feature, with a dual rear camera system (50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide) and new AI-powered enhancements for clearer shots and improved night photography. Real-time filters and tools such as Dual Preview and Portrait Studio are designed to help users get better results, even without opening the device. The new Galaxy Z Flip7 FE brings many of these experiences to a wider audience, offering a more accessible foldable option.
Samsung’s push into wearables is represented by the Galaxy Watch8 series, which has been reengineered for improved comfort, style, and wellness tracking. The watches feature a thinner profile, Dynamic Lug system for a better fit, and enhanced component mounting for durability and accuracy. Display brightness reaches up to 3,000 nits, and dual-frequency GPS allows for more precise location tracking.
Health and fitness features are at the core of the Watch8 series. New tools such as Bedtime Guidance, Vascular Load, and Antioxidant Index offer deeper wellness insights, while Running Coach provides tailored workout plans and real-time guidance. The devices also include high stress alerts and mindfulness tracking for daily health management.
The Watch8 series is the first to ship with Google’s Gemini AI assistant and Wear OS 6, enabling hands-free control with natural language commands for functions such as health tracking, scheduling, and communication. The interface is further refined with Multi-Info Tiles and the Now Bar for quick access to essential information.
Samsung has also prioritized mobile security across its new devices, introducing enhanced privacy measures like Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection and post-quantum cryptography for secure Wi-Fi connections.
The new products are now available for pre-order in Malaysia, with the Galaxy Z Fold7 priced from RM 7,799, the Galaxy Z Flip7 from RM 4,999, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE from RM 3,999, and the Galaxy Watch8 series starting at RM 1,299. Customers can benefit from various promotions, including e-vouchers, storage upgrades, and trade-in rebates, depending on the model and payment method.
