Lazada Malaysia sets new record in 9.9 Mega Sale

Lazada Malaysia achieved record-breaking results during this year’s 9.9 Mega Brands Sale, highlighting Malaysian consumers’ growing preference for authentic brands, premium products, and innovative AI-powered shopping features. LazMall, the platform’s flagship virtual mall with over 32,000 international and local brands, played a central role in driving strong performance across the region.
One of the key trends observed in Malaysia was the rise in higher-value transactions. The average order value on LazMall increased by 10 percent compared to the same period in 2024, reflecting consumers’ willingness to pay more for quality and genuine products. This shift indicates more mature online shopping behavior as Malaysians prioritize trusted platforms over discount-driven purchases.
AI-powered shopping engagement also proved to be a major driver of growth. AI Lazzie, Lazada’s virtual assistant, contributed to higher conversions and customer engagements during the event. Interactions with AI Lazzie increased by 53 percent compared to the 6.6 sale, while Malaysia recorded a 34 percent rise in self-initiated conversations. This translated to a 36 percent uplift in orders, showing how AI is transforming digital shopping experiences into more personalized and interactive journeys.
In Malaysia, certain product categories stood out with remarkable year-on-year growth. Women’s Fall/Winter Clothing led the surge with an exceptional 1,054 percent increase, boosted by rising demand for outbound travel. The Mother and Baby segment grew by 11 percent, highlighting stronger spending by families. Toys and Games expanded by 38 percent, showing higher interest in hobbies and entertainment purchases. Groceries recorded a 27 percent increase, confirming the steady shift to online platforms for daily essentials. Health-related products grew 18 percent, while Pet Supplies rose by 9 percent, reflecting customer trust in the quality and reliability of LazMall’s offerings.
