Minisforum has introduced a more affordable configuration of its recently launched M1-1295 mini PC, offering a starting price of $329 for barebones units. This move makes the powerful compact system more accessible to users seeking high performance in a small form factor. The M1-1295 was originally launched in early October with the Intel Core i9-12950HX processor, known for its hybrid architecture and impressive multi-core capabilities. The processor features eight performance cores and eight efficiency cores, supporting 24 threads and reaching speeds of up to 5.0 GHz. This design delivers strong performance across productivity tasks, content creation, and demanding applications.

The Intel Core i9-12950HX used in this mini PC delivers CPU results comparable to AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 in heavy processing tasks, although it is not as competitive for gaming due to the limitations of the integrated Intel UHD Graphics. The device uses a dual memory layout with support for DDR4 SO-DIMM modules running at up to 3200 MHz frequencies, and users can install up to 96 GB of memory. Storage flexibility is significant, with dual M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots, each supporting up to 4 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. This enables users to expand total storage to 8 TB for large files, fast data handling, and convenient upgrades.

Connectivity is another strong point of the M1-1295 mini PC. The system includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, provided by a MediaTek MT7902 M.2 wireless module, along with a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port powered by the Realtek RTL8125 controller. Users can benefit from stable, high-speed networking whether working over wired or wireless connections.

Despite its advanced hardware, the M1-1295 remains compact and suitable for office environments or multimedia setups. The case features a white and silver finish with precise machining, and the total system weight is about 1.12 kg. Its small size, only 7% that of a standard desktop, does not compromise performance. The system achieves efficient cooling using a triple heat pipe copper design and dual turbine fans, increasing airflow by up to 25% and ensuring temperature stability during demanding workloads.

Multiple connectivity options are provided at the rear and sides of the system. These include three video outputs—HDMI 2.1 (up to 4K at 60Hz), DisplayPort 1.4 (up to 4K at 144Hz), and USB Type-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode (up to 4K at 60Hz)—enabling triple-display setups for multitasking or creative applications. Additional ports include USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A and Type-C, USB 2.0, 2.5G LAN, audio input/output, and dedicated microphone and line jacks.

The barebones model allows customers to install their preferred memory and storage, providing flexibility for upgrades and cost control. Pre-populated models remain available for users who prefer ready-to-use systems, but the new starting price lowers the barrier for those wanting high-end computing in a mini PC format. The M1-1295 supports Windows 11 Pro out of the box, making it ready for modern office and entertainment needs.
