Ryt Bank Partners with Courtsite for Digital Sports Finance

Ryt Bank, the digital banking arm of YTL Corporation, has entered into a strategic partnership with Courtsite, Malaysia’s largest sports facility booking platform, to integrate digital finance solutions with sports community initiatives. The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed at the ASEAN Sports Industry Expo 2025 held at Setia City Convention Centre.
The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi and Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh. Melvin Ooi, Chief Executive Officer of Ryt Bank, and Aaron Sheah, Director of Courtsite, represented their respective organisations at the formal agreement.
The partnership aims to deliver co-branded campaigns, joint marketing programmes, and community activations designed to serve Malaysians who participate in sports and use digital banking services. Both companies plan to leverage their technology platforms to create integrated experiences that combine financial services with sports facility access.
Ryt Bank operates as a digital-only financial institution focused on simplifying banking through artificial intelligence-powered features. The bank positions itself as a provider of digital financial services for Malaysians who prefer mobile-first banking solutions. Through this collaboration, Ryt Bank will explore opportunities to connect its banking platform with sports-related transactions and community activities.
Courtsite operates a digital platform that connects sports players with venue operators across Malaysia. The company reports serving more than 600,000 registered users and facilitating over 8 million booking hours across 350 sports venues nationwide. The platform supports booking for various sports facilities including badminton courts, futsal pitches, and other recreational spaces.
The partnership between the two digital platforms represents an effort to combine financial technology with sports technology infrastructure. Ryt Bank will work with Courtsite to develop payment integration features, reward programmes, and digital experiences tailored to active sports community members. The collaboration focuses on improving transaction convenience for users who book sports facilities through digital channels.
Both organisations have indicated plans to develop community engagement initiatives that encourage physical activity while promoting digital payment adoption. The partnership aligns with Malaysia’s broader digital economy goals and the government’s support for sports development and financial technology innovation.
Melvin Ooi stated that the collaboration reflects the bank’s approach to integrating financial services into everyday activities. The partnership strategy centres on making digital banking relevant to specific lifestyle segments, starting with the sports and recreation community. Ryt Bank’s platform uses artificial intelligence to provide personalised financial management tools designed for mobile users.
Aaron Sheah explained that the partnership enables Courtsite to extend its community-building mission into the digital finance space. The company views the collaboration as an opportunity to enhance the overall experience for sports players by streamlining payment processes and potentially introducing financial incentives for active platform users.
The memorandum of understanding establishes a framework for both companies to develop specific initiatives over the coming months. Planned activities include co-branded marketing campaigns, joint community events, and the exploration of integrated digital features that connect banking services with sports facility bookings.
The partnership announcement at the ASEAN Sports Industry Expo 2025 positions both brands within Malaysia’s growing sports technology and financial technology sectors. The expo serves as a regional platform for sports industry stakeholders to showcase innovations and establish business partnerships across Southeast Asia.
Ryt Bank continues to pursue partnerships that connect digital banking with lifestyle categories beyond traditional financial services. The bank’s strategy focuses on reaching digitally savvy Malaysians through partnerships with platforms they already use for everyday activities. This approach reflects broader trends in digital banking where financial institutions seek to embed services into non-financial customer journeys.
Courtsite’s platform growth demonstrates increasing Malaysian adoption of digital booking systems for sports facilities. The company’s user base and transaction volume indicate significant market penetration in the sports facility booking segment. The partnership with Ryt Bank may accelerate digital payment adoption among sports community members who currently use various payment methods.
Both Ryt Bank and Courtsite operate mobile applications available through major app stores. The companies have indicated that integration features and joint initiatives stemming from this partnership will be accessible through their existing digital platforms. Users of both services can expect announcements regarding specific programme launches in subsequent months.
