Sooka Announces Major Partnerships Across Malaysia

Sooka has announced multiple strategic partnerships with leading Malaysian companies to expand access to its streaming platform. The collaborations include Maxis, Etiqa, U Mobile, Grab, MAE by Maybank2u, Sports Direct, Zus Coffee, and VIU, offering users various promotional packages and subscription bundles across different sectors.

The streaming service currently holds the top position as the most popular sports application in Malaysia and ranks among the five highest-grossing applications on the Google Play Store. These partnerships aim to increase the platform’s reach across telecommunications, financial services, insurance, retail, and lifestyle segments.

Chu Young Lee, Director at sooka, explained that the company’s objective centers on making live sports, Asian content, and local entertainment more accessible throughout Malaysia. The partnerships with established brands reflect a customer-focused strategy designed to create more value and expand audience reach. With the Premier League season underway, the timing allows more Malaysians to access 4K UHD live sports content through Android TVs, the sooka application, and the sooka TV stick.

The telecommunications sector forms a significant part of these collaborations. Maxis offers new and existing postpaid subscribers on select plans six months of complimentary sooka Premium access until January 31, 2026. Hotlink Prepaid customers with the RM55 Monthly Internet Pass, or Hotlink Postpaid users with specific plans, receive 30 days of sooka Sports and Entertainment access. Other Maxis Postpaid and Hotlink subscribers can subscribe to sooka Premium at RM25 monthly, reduced from the regular price of RM50.90, or access the Super Streamer Add-on at RM15 per month.

U Mobile has introduced a bundled package called U Home 5G x sooka Premium through the MyUMobile App, combining high-speed 5G wireless broadband with sooka’s streaming service. This package remains available on an ongoing basis for U Mobile customers.

The insurance sector partnership with Etiqa provides all sooka users with a personal accident coverage plan valued at RM10,000, valid for 30 days from activation. Users can register for this coverage through the sooka application. Etiqa customers will receive complimentary 10-day access to sooka’s Sports and Entertainment plan through unique digital vouchers sent via email. This offer runs until January 31, 2026.

Financial services integration includes MAE by Maybank2u through the JOM MAE campaign. New users who open a MAE Wallet and complete the onboarding process receive cash rewards and a unique code for 14-day complimentary access to sooka’s Sports and Entertainment plan. This promotion continues until December 31, 2025.

Ride-hailing platform Grab enables users to redeem a complimentary 14-day Sports and Entertainment plan using their Grab points through GrabRewards. Each successful redemption provides a unique activation code for use on sooka’s website or mobile application. This offer remains available until December 31, 2025.

Retail partnerships include Sports Direct, which offers members seven days of complimentary access to sooka’s Sports and Entertainment plan with purchases made in-store or online. This promotion extends until February 26, 2026. Zus Coffee customers can redeem ZUS points through the Zus Coffee App for seven days of complimentary sooka access, available until December 31, 2025.

Content streaming collaboration with VIU introduces a discounted bundle package priced from RM21.90 monthly. The sooka-VIU app bundle provides access to both platforms and remains available for purchase on the sooka website on an ongoing basis.

The platform provides selected live sports and entertainment content at no cost to registered users. Access to sooka is available through sooka.my or the sooka application, which can be downloaded from Google Play, Apple App Store, and smart TV platforms. Users can stream content immediately after registration.

These partnerships represent sooka’s strategy to strengthen its market position as a locally developed entertainment platform designed for Malaysian audiences. The company plans to continue expanding its reach through technology improvements, competitive pricing structures, and additional strategic alliances. The growing subscriber base and support from industry partners indicate the platform’s increasing prominence in Malaysia’s streaming market.

The collaborations span multiple consumer touchpoints, from daily purchases at coffee outlets to telecommunications services and financial applications. This multi-sector approach enables sooka to reach diverse demographic segments and integrate streaming access into various aspects of consumer activity. The promotional offers provide entry points for new users while adding value for existing subscribers through bundled services and extended trial periods.

Sooka’s current ranking on the Google Play Store demonstrates strong consumer adoption in the Malaysian market. The platform’s focus on sports content, particularly live Premier League matches in 4K UHD quality, addresses demand for high-quality sports streaming among Malaysian viewers.
