Xiaomi Smart Camera C100 launches in Malaysia at RM99

Xiaomi has officially launched the Smart Camera C100 in global markets, including Malaysia, where it is priced at RM 99. The device, designed primarily for indoor use, aims to bring advanced surveillance capabilities to households at an accessible price point. Positioned as part of Xiaomi’s strategy to broaden its smart home ecosystem, the camera balances affordability with a range of modern features that rival more expensive competitors.
The Smart Camera C100 is already available in European countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and France, with prices set at £24.99 and €24.99 depending on the market. In Malaysia, its RM 99 price tag makes it one of the more affordable options in the local smart security segment. The product can be purchased through Xiaomi’s official online store, and the company has highlighted it as part of its latest wave of smart home devices.
Central to the Smart Camera C100 is its 3-megapixel sensor paired with a wide f/1.6 aperture and a 128-degree field of view. It records at a resolution of 2304 × 1296, producing 2K HD video footage that provides sharper detail than many entry-level models. The device includes ultra-low-light full-color technology to improve image quality in dim environments, along with a 940 nm infrared illuminator for discreet night vision recording without the distracting red glow of conventional IR systems.
Beyond image quality, the camera is equipped with a suite of AI-assisted surveillance features. It can detect human presence, loud noises, and crying infants, while its virtual fence tool allows users to designate specific areas for monitoring. These functions extend its role beyond traditional home security, supporting use cases such as infant care and general household monitoring.
Connectivity is a major component of the C100’s design. The device supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, enabling faster data transfer and more stable network connections. Users can manage the camera through the Xiaomi Home app, which offers remote controls and smart notifications. Voice assistant integration is also included, with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa compatibility, allowing for hands-free operation.
The Smart Camera C100 is equipped with a built-in microphone and speaker, facilitating two-way audio communication between users and individuals in monitored spaces. For privacy protection, it includes a physical lens shield that can be closed when monitoring is not required. At approximately 115 mm in height and weighing 170 grams, the camera is compact and versatile, with the option to mount it upright or inverted to suit different environments.
In terms of technical specifications, the camera supports microSD card storage ranging from 8 GB to 256 GB, uses H.265 video compression to reduce file sizes, and operates within temperatures of -10°C to 45°C, ensuring adaptability in varied indoor conditions. The retail package includes the camera unit, charging cable, wall mounting kit, mounting sticker, and a user manual, allowing users to install and operate the device with minimal effort.
