Meta Ray-Ban Display AI Glasses Revolutionize Wearable Technology

Meta has launched a new generation of smart glasses with the Meta Ray-Ban Display, introducing an advanced AI-powered wearable device designed to enhance user interaction and connectivity while allowing wearers to stay focused on their surroundings. The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses feature a high-resolution, full-color in-lens display embedded in the right lens. This display supports a 600 by 600 pixel resolution with a 20-degree field of view and can deliver up to 5,000 nits of brightness. It operates at 90Hz refresh rate for motion and 30Hz for static images. The display is discreetly positioned to the side of the lens to avoid obstructing the wearer’s vision and activates only during brief interactions.
This wearable device integrates multiple technologies including microphones, open-ear speakers, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera capable of 3K video recording at 30 frames per second, and six microphones to capture sound clearly. These glasses support hands-free video calling via popular apps such as WhatsApp and Messenger, and offer real-time captioning and translation to assist communication. The device also provides turn-by-turn pedestrian navigation with a visual map displayed on the lens, empowering wearers to navigate independently without needing to use their phones.
The accompanying Meta Neural Band is an electromyography (EMG) wristband that translates muscle signals from subtle hand movements into digital commands. This wristband enables intuitive interaction with the glasses, allowing users to scroll, click, zoom, and navigate through messages or music playback with simple gestures like pinching or rotating their wrists. The band is designed for nearly universal compatibility, backed by extensive research involving 200,000 participants to handle varying muscle signals. It features a durable, lightweight design with an IPX7 water resistance rating and offers up to 18 hours of battery life.
Battery performance on the glasses themselves is rated at six hours of mixed use, extendable to 30 hours with the portable and collapsible charging case. The glasses come with Transitions® lenses that adapt to changing light conditions for indoor and outdoor use. Two color options, Black and Sand, are available with prescription-ready frames supporting powers from -4.00 to +4.00.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display represents a new category of AI glasses focused on a contextual display platform, complementing Meta’s existing smart eyewear lineup, which includes Camera AI glasses and advanced Augmented Reality prototypes. Available starting September 30, 2025, at select US retailers including Best Buy, Lenscrafters, Sunglass Hut, and Ray-Ban stores, the glasses will expand to international markets such as Canada, France, Italy, and the UK in early 2026. Priced at $799 US dollars, the offering marks a significant step forward in wearable technology, delivering practical AI-driven functions through a hands-free and stylish device.
